CHEF IN THE BUSH

Bundle up & join Chef Ben in the back forty for the ultimate culinary experience!

Each session will have a different culinary themed menu, highlighting local & seasonal items.  You’ll start your adventure out on foot and make your way out to the back of our farm, at the edge of the forest.  The trip is about 20 minutes in length!  About half way along your journey, where the pumpkin patch, strawberry patch, apple orchard & sunflower field meet, you’ll be greeted with a warm ‘welcome drink’ and your first course of the day (Hint: it incorporates something from each of the fields that intersect here!)

At our ‘bush camp’ you will find our prospector’s/military tent where our chef, Ben, will be concocting up a bountiful 9 course menu for you, a crackling fire pit with benches, and beautiful views of the surrounding fields.

Throughout your time at the bush, feel free to meander through the trails, sit by the crackling fire pit, or warm up inside the tent by the stove. Enjoy the company of our guests in a safe, physically distanced experience. You’re welcome to learn as much about cooking with fire from our experienced chef and ask as many questions as you like. Or just simply enjoy some fresh air and quiet time as the sun pokes through the snow glistened trees. 

9 course Chef Experience Menu

Our first menu series will be ‘The Canadian Experience.’  While we want to keep some elements of surprise around the menu, we can tell you that our chef has worked hard to beautifully highlight only the best locally sourced ingredients.  You can expect to see tomahawk steak, heritage breed chicken, an elevated version of everyone’s favourite Canadian classic, poutine, & much, much more. 

The experience consists of 9 courses, 7 of which are cooked either over an open fire, or on the stove in the prospector’s tent.  Everything is prepared right in front of your eyes, from scratch.    

The Timing 

Event Start Time: 11:30am, meet out front the market. 

Walk to the ‘bush camp’: Approximately 20 minutes on foot, plus a ‘pit stop’ where you will enjoy your first course & welcome drink! 

Tasting Menu: Enjoy Chef Ben’s bush camp experience & everything our bush camp has to offer. 

Return to the market: 20 minutes on foot. 

The event will end around 3pm. 

 

The tICKETS 

Tickets for this event are extremely limited.  During your time at the farm, a distance of 6 feet must be maintained between social circles.  This is a 19+ event. Please book in advance! No walk-ins.  

Cost: $150 + HST per person. Includes admission, multi-course tasting menu.

The Fine Print

At this time, we are asking that masks be worn when in the market and in the prospectors tent. 

Non Refundable: This is a non-refundable event. In order for this event to run, we require at least 8 bookings.  If we do not receive enough bookings,  we will contact you to reschedule. 

Accessibility: This is not a wheelchair accessible event. Please contact our Events Team at events@pinglesfarmmarket.com if you require special assistance.

Dogs: Even though we love furry friends, dogs are NOT permitted at Chef In The Bush for health & safety reasons.

Weather and Cancellation: This is a non-refundable event. Should Pingle’s Farm Market decide to cancel due to severe inclement weather, there will be a weather rescheduling date.  We will not be allowing any rebooking.
